A dilapidated house turned into a stunning home

Commissioned by the new owners to rebuild this very sorry looking house in the heart of Leamington Spa. Having not been lived in for 6 years the property had become derelict. After many meetings with the planning department and English Heritage it was agreed the property could be demolished retaining the facade creating a new 5 bedroom house. The fabric and structure were replaced incorporating new green technology with underfloor heating run from a ground source heat pump heating the entire house.

5 bed new build in Kenilworth

On a very tricky plot on a steep hill we built this 3 storey, 5 bed house near The Common in Kenilworth. Built to an ‘A’ grade energy efficiency rating, which was achieved by having triple glazing throughout, 50% more insulation than required by building control, and the installation of a 3kw Solar panel electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaics (PV) and LED lights throughout. The kitchen/family room is a stunning room with underfloor heating (the whole of the lower ground floor in underfloor heating) with the addition of oak flooring. There are large 6.5m bifold doors which are 2.5m tall that open onto the south facing limestone patio and garden beyond.  The rear of the property and the front entrance were enhnaced by using Western Red Cedar cladding
